Pascale Daniel, interior architect: my journey toward interior architecture

If I practice today with passion and commitment the profession of interior architect, it is not the result of chance, but of a deeply meaningful personal journey. My path has been woven from multiple experiences as diverse as they are enriching, and I would like to share them with you.

A creator at heart: my artistic itinerary

Creation has always been a driving force in my life. And it was first through music that it took form. After studies at a business school, I naturally gravitated toward the music industry. I worked for several years within independent labels, then at renowned record companies. I flourished in the world of artistic direction, feeding my passion for music while managing projects, leading teams, and overseeing executive production.

In parallel, writing and composing never ceased to animate me. An opportunity led me to collaborate with Françoise Hardy, contributing to iconic albums such as Tant de belles choses, Personne d'autre, and La pluie sans parapluie, between 2003 and 2018. I found in that musical world a fertile ground, where every note offered a new source of inspiration.

Paris au mois d'août: when creativity illuminates...

After giving free rein to my creativity in the world of music, it was in the field of design and textile design that I chose to continue this adventure. In 2012, I gave birth to my own lighting brand, Paris au mois d'août.

I had the opportunity to work with associations supporting climate refugees and to promote fair trade, notably in Bangladesh.

I had the privilege of seeing my brand extend internationally, thanks to prestigious clients such as ABC Home in New York, Hub Furniture, and Conran Shop, who adopted my creations in the United States, Australia, and throughout Europe. In 2012, the brand was honored with the Maison et Objet Découvertes prize, and in 2016, it was distinguished as a Design selection by the Wall Street Journal.

This adventure was extraordinary and allowed me to flourish in a new form of creativity. However, over time, the brand's success and rapid growth eventually overwhelmed me. Logistics management gradually took precedence over the creative dimension. And, as you will have understood, it is that creativity which gives rhythm to my life!

Once again, my path took a new turn.

A not-so-unexpected transition toward interior architecture

When I felt I had explored every facet of my lighting brand, an irresistible desire to return to school emerged. My choice naturally fell on design and space design. Why this choice? No doubt because, throughout all those years running my lighting company, I had frequent occasion to work alongside talented designers, architects, and interior architects. Fueled by a passion for design, this profession presented itself to me as a natural calling.

The next step was to acquire new skills, and that is precisely what I undertook in 2018 at ESAM Design Paris, over 4 years. At this Parisian school, I earned a dual degree in interior architecture and design, providing me with the skills needed to bring unique and harmonious spaces to life.

An interior architect with convictions: values and emotions guide my choices

A graduate since 2022, I can now express my creativity and my love of design through the conception of bespoke spaces. As an interior architect, I remain guided by values. By training in various approaches, such as environmental psychology and neuroarchitecture, I champion a global, integrative vision, to best serve my clients in their particularities and differences.

I attach great importance to creating unique and personalized projects. I reject the idea of proposing standardized, characterless designs. Every realization must possess its own coherence and confer a soul and a body to the living or working space of my clients. With my years of experience in textile and product design, I am able to conceive original projects that respond to your needs and express your singularity.

Renovating a space goes far beyond a material transformation. It is also about allowing the continuation of a history and creating a new chapter with full awareness. This is exactly what happened during one of my most memorable projects, where I renovated the apartment of a single father and his three daughters, marked by a turbulent family past. By collaborating with the daughters to reimagine the space, I wanted to show them that they could become the authors of their own lives and of change within their environment.
